Day 3!

Okay... So, those who know me, know how OCD I am. I love for everything to be in it's place and in a certain order. If I don't have things done in a certain way, I will worry and fret over it until I change it or fix it!! It's crazy, I know! BUT I have a room mom who is the same way and I LOVE IT!!!! We had asked the students to buy 3 spiral notebooks and 3 folders. They were were all asked to bring the same colors. However, as many of you know, that is an almost impossible task when you have so many students trying to buy the same things!!!! SO, yesterday, my room mom bought the 9 (yes 9!!!) red spiral notebooks so my math journals would all be the same color. She also sorted my folders so the kiddos' unfinished work folders would all be the same color (family). Today, I got down to sorting the rest of the supplies. So many glue sticks, erasers, and pencils!
This is what my table looked like in the beginning... SO MESSY. Too much for me:) So, I gave my students something to work on and got down to business. I sorted and organized and finally got it all off the table:)
I also hung up my students work in the hall and in the room. We talked about a monster coming to school and how he disrupted the teacher and classroom. He also broke rules (like a monster;). We did an anchor chart where the students gave examples of what makes a monster. When we made this list, we discussed ways to change those behaviors. We then made a monster glyph...
Once we finished our monster chart and glyphs, we talked about how to become a Peacemaker. We read David Goes to School and talked about how David was not a peacemaker. He was more like the monster that came to school. We made another anchor chart listing how to become a peacemaker! Then, because we have to have a cute activity, we made our own David...

This was all this morning... before lunch! And just so you know, our lunch is at 10:25 (more like brunch...Hehe). The afternoon was a long one and I was in need of some caffeine by 1:00. My wonderful besties came through and BOY, do I owe them BIG! My bestie across the hall had coffee and my bestie down in 1st Grade had White Chocolate Caramel Latte Creamer! Can you say DELISH?!?! It made my afternoon:) So, to repay them, I went to the store after school and bought some new creamer and peanut butter crackers (you gotta have those) to replenish our stock!
I am looking forward to tomorrow;) That Hershey's Chocolate Caramel is calling my name!
