This week we will continue with our Reading Series. We will be reading the next story and working on er, ir, and ur words:)


What Are we Learning?
Reading: This week we are reading Turtle’s Race with Beaver (222-242). This is a Folk Tale. Please read the story (or some of it) each night!
Math: Chapter 3: Basic Facts Addition and Subtraction
Unit: Fire Safety

This Week in Our Class...

Welcome Back from Fall Break! I am excited to start this short week:)

News:
Tuesday, October 22: Field Trip to the Fine Arts Center at AHS. We will be watching a play. The play is free to all APS students:)
Monday, November 4: Field Trip to Downtown! We will visit the Police Dept, Fire Dept, and Recycling Center. It will be during school hours and we will be back in time for regular afternoon pick up. The cost for your child is $3.00

Over the last few weeks, we have had Homecoming! We had a lot go on that week! Here are some pictures of our fun dress up days!

 We had a football reader read to our class! Ms. Rains and Mrs. Cryar from 1st grade joined us:)








We had a Homecoming Pep Rally that afternoon. Some of the staff were cheerleaders in High School, so we were asked to join the High School cheerleaders! This a picture of the AHS cheerleaders from years past:)

 This week, we are reviewing in reading. We will continue to move through chapter 3 in Math. Please be sure to study math facts with your child each night!!:)

Sept. 30-Oct. 4


Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend! This past week was a busy one and this week is looking the same way! 

Last Monday, we had an author visit. The kiddos got to listen to him tell stories and he autographed a few books! 
Last Friday was Farm Day! The kids got to see different animals that live on the farm. A big thanks to the Albertville High School students who set this up and allowed our kids such a great opportunity to learn:)









This week is HOMECOMING week for the Albertville Aggies!! We will have some dress up days starting October 2 (Wednesday). First up is Biker Day! Wear your biker gear to Roll over the Panthers on Wednesday. Thursday is Crazy Sock Day. We are going to Sock it to the Panthers! Friday is Aggie Spirit Day. Wear all of your great AGGIE Spirit clothes and accessories. The Senior Football players will be Friday morning to read to our students! Let's show our support by being covered in Red and Black:) We will also have a Pep Rally Friday afternoon for the students.

What Are we Learning?
Reading: Our story this week will be Tara and Tiree pgs. 166-181 The comprehension skill this week is sequence.  The comprehension test will be given on Thursday.
Math: Finishing Chapter 2: place value to 1,000; different ways to show #s; count on & back by 10 & 100; number names.
