Plants

Plants Unit- This week we studied plants: plant needs, plant parts, how to grow plants, trees, and Earth Day! It has been a busy week! The students helped create a Plant Parts/Need poster on Monday. They used it to help with other activities throughout the week! The students also created individual greenhouses and "planted" a lima bean. They have been able to observe the changes the bean has made and Friday afternoon, they even saw a few sprouts! We are hoping to see lots of changes on Monday!

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Wednesday, April 22nd was Earth Day. We read about how and why Earth Day was started. We learned about easy ways to help the Earth in BIG ways by reducing, reusing, and recycling! Then the students wrote a list of ways they could help the Earth.

Earth's Biomes

Class Biome project- the students worked in groups to learn about different biomes found around the world. The students studied the rainforest, temperate forest, desert, tundra, and grassland. The students read about their biomes using PebbleGo.com and other informational text. They wrote a report on the biomes, then create a poster to show what they learned!

This week in math we are learning about money! We are sorting, collecting, and counting coins! Here are some pictures of the math lesson we learned today. The students are working with partners and grouping the change into like coins, then arranging them from greatest amount to least amount, before finding the total:)
